Using electric guitar and bass, accordion, saxophone, and one heck of a voice, Seattle composer and multi-instrumentalist Amy Denio makes intricate, toe-tapping music full of catchy riffs, slinky melodies and absurd humor. A member of renowned avant combos such as the Entropics, Tone Dogs, the Pale Nudes, and the Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet, she can be found playing with an international cast of progressive/improv legends. Tonight she’s flying solo.

Albuquerque’s own Protuberance work up infectious grooves from which they gleefully leap into free jazz abandon. Guitarist Paul Pulasky provides the angular lines, while Mark Weaver (of the Selsuns, Bubbadinos, Out of Context) takes the tuba into realms way beyond the usual oompah thing, and drummer Dave Wayne holds it all together.
